Sustainable Caring

For people who are providing compassionate care during this period of collective grief and trauma.

Are you struggling with the same stressors as the people you are helping?

Sustainable Caring is a specialized program to address the unique dynamics of helping people while you're also managing the stressors of Covid-19.

The additional stressors caused by Covid-19 increases the chance of experiencing psychosocial injuries such as; vicarious trauma, moral injury, burnout or PTSD.

Some of the stressors leading to these injuries include:

  • Not enough resources to do your job to the best of your ability
  • Not enough resources to keep you safe while doing your work
  • Barriers to connect with people because of changing restrictions
  • Trying to adapt to online or distant services
  • Lack of connection with your colleagues
  • The people you want to help are at risk for food/housing insecurity, abuse/violence, catching or experiencing severe complications from Covid-19

In this program, you will learn:

  • The different types of psychosocial injuries in the workplace that you may be experiencing, from compassion fatigue to moral distress and burnout.
  • A trauma-informed approach to protecting yourself from these experiences.
  • How to understand and manage the collective trauma and grief from Covid-19.
  • How to explain to your loved ones what you are experiencing and what you need in a way that is aimed to reduce their stress about you.
